We’re excited to announce a partnership with Mangere Mountain. The Stardome education team has worked with the Mangere Mountain Education Centre to create a unique, daytime experience for all the family.
On Sunday, March 19th at the Mangere Mountain Education Centre you can take part in a guided walk over one of Auckland’s oldest volcanic cones and see how the Māori people used their knowledge of the sky to work with the land. Then sit the Stardome team will guide you in daytime astronomy activities, trace the arc of the Sun through the seasons, make a sundial and use traditional flax weaving techniques to create your own Land and Sky bracelet with a UV bead that changes colour in the sun.
10am-4pm on Sunday 19th March 2017 at Mangere Mountain Education Centre. $2 per person. Bookings recommended .
