We’re digging into all things plant and bug life! Become a Stardome Chief Investigator and uncover the what, the why, and the how of the life growing around us.
Recommended age 5-12
Open from 10am-2:30pm, explore activity stations scattered throughout Stardome to learn about how plants grow, how they keep us alive and why the Sun and solar energy is so important for keeping the greenery going. Explore VR, AR, experiments and crafts. You can come and go as you please so stay as long as you need to complete all the stations.
Every half hour, our expert team will launch water-powered rockets out in the sunshine, so keep an ear and eye out for the rocket announcement and head outside for the countdown!

If you fancy taking your investigation to the next level, then make sure to also enter the ultimate station of discovery… the 360-degree planetarium dome theatre! Shows will screen at 10am, 12pm and 1pm. Here you’ll catch the immersive show Life of Trees where you’ll meet two quirky insects, Delores the ladybug and Mike the firefly, and explore the inside of a tree in a hilarious and entertaining adventure.
Show bookings required. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early, late entry into the planetarium is not possible.

Children must be accompanied by an adult 16 years and over. Investigation Station is not a drop-off holiday programme.
If you’re attending a planetarium show, you must arrive least 15 minutes before the session. The planetarium environment is dark so late entry is strictly prohibited. We can swap your tickets for another session time, but we cannot offer refunds. The planetarium is not recommended for children aged two and under. If you do wish to bring an under-two and they would like their own seat, the $12 child ticket applies.
If you walk-in for the activities then decide to book for the show, your walk-in ticket will be put towards your planetarium show ticket.
